Jay Hyde AIA, CSI, CDT, CCCA, CCS, CID-C
ARCHITECT, ASSOCIATE at Mogavero Architects
Jay Hyde is an Associate with Mogavero Architects. He has extensive experience managing and overseeing design projects in education, university housing, multifamily housing, places of worship, recreation, retail, and commercial buildings.
In addition to design, Mr. Hyde has provided his experience in all phases of architectural practice including estimating, constructability analysis, specifications, and construction document support.
Mr. Hyde currently provides code review and analysis, as well as quality assurance/quality control and plan review for Mogavero Architects. His greatest joy at work is sharing his knowledge and mentoring and empowering others. Outside of the office, Mr. Hyde enjoys gardening, cooking, and US travel.
Nathan O. Taylor CSI, CDT
Associate at ECS Pacific, Inc. | DTR Consulting Services, Inc.
Nathan Taylor, IIBEC, CSI, CDT, has extensive architectural design and building envelope experience with a skillset focusing on communication (both drawn and written) between the construction and design teams. A master’s degree in architecture and urban planning complements an in-depth understanding of waterproofing and building envelope products.
Skilled in coordination, communications, and team building with a focus on Construction Phase Services, Quality Control, and Forensic Investigation, Nathan enjoys the problem-solving side of architectural projects.
He stays actively creative by drawing and writing novels in his free time.
Sheryl Dodd-Hansen FCSI, CCS, CCCA, SCIP
Principal at Dodd-Hansen Consulting Group
Sheryl is a principal with the Dodd-Hansen Consulting Group. She focuses her specifying skills primarily upon Educational and Governmental projects falling under the requirements of the California Public Contract Code.
In 1996 she was selected to be the first woman to serve on the CSI Institute Certification Committee and later served two years as chair of the committee. She served CSI on the MasterFormat Implementation Task Team and as Secretary of the CSI West Region. During her service she has continued to advance her knowledge of parliamentary procedure through participation in the American Institute of Parliamentarians. Sheryl was elevated to Fellowship in CSI in 2002 and joined the ranks of only 17 women that had been so honored at that time. She is also past national president of Specifications Consultants in Independent Practice (SCIP).
Sheryl has served a 2-year term on the CSI national Board as Vice President and as Secretary of the Institute. She chaired the CSI Governance Reform Implementation Task Team for transition to the new governance model. She served with the Body of Knowledge Analysis (BoKA) Task Team for the CDT exam in 2008 and 2012, as well as a BoKA Task Team for a potential new exam for Integrated Project Delivery Managers, based on the National CAD Standard (NCS), the National Building Information Modeling (NBIM) Standard, and sources for integrated project delivery, sustainability, and lean construction techniques. In 2011 she recruited and served as chair for the CSI Government Credential Task Team to develop education and credentials for employees and consultants using the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) for government projects.
Joel Schlauch CSI
Project Manager at Comstock Johnson Architects, Inc.
A graduate of the University of Maryland in 1993, Joel Schlauch has been living and working in and around the state of Maryland for more than 25 years. Those years include varied professional engagements for local Architects, an Interior Designer Firm, a Homebuilder, a General Contractor and a photography sales and service studio as well as a self-employed semi-professional Artist and Author. The years in Architecture comprise most of Mr. Schlauch’s professional background while the other professional offshoots serve to inform a wider array of talents under the larger umbrella of the AEC and design community.
In 2018 Mr. Schlauch and his wife moved from Maryland to California to be closer to their son and pursue more lucrative professional opportunities. Mr. Schlauch is recently celebrated his five-year anniversary at Comstock Johnson Architects fulfilling the role of Project Manager.

Ben Herlache
Building Envelope & Architectural Consultant at Rmax Sika
Ben Herlache helps architects, developers, consultants, and contractors simplify exterior wall systems for complex projects by improving performance, constructibility, and cost. As a Building Envelope & Architectural Consultant with Sika-Rmax, he works with project teams early in the design process to develop practical, high-performing, code-compliant wall assemblies.
Passionate about advancing the building envelope industry, Ben collaborates with architects, manufacturers, contractors, and industry organizations to promote education, innovation, and building science. He has contributed to technical publications, industry initiatives, and committee work focused on improving construction best practices.
As a Director of the CSI Sacramento Chapter, Ben is committed to supporting collaboration, professional development, and the exchange of technical knowledge that strengthens the design and construction community.
Logan Bosworth
Technical Service Specialist at Technical Testing Technologies, Inc.
Logan is a Technical Service Specialist with experience supporting the construction industry through specialized testing, inspection, and quality assurance services. He works with architects, engineers, contractors, manufacturers, and building owners to evaluate the performance and integrity of building systems, helping identify issues early and reduce project risk.
His experience includes electronic leak detection, flood testing, concrete testing, moisture assessments, thermal imaging, and other non-destructive testing methods. He enjoys applying technical knowledge in the field to solve complex challenges, deliver accurate results, and support successful project outcomes.
Logan is known for his strong communication, attention to detail, and a solutions-focused approach, and he takes pride in providing reliable testing services and building lasting relationships with clients and project teams.
Gisselle Lavender Assoc. AIA, CSI
Designer II at Comstock Johnson Architects, Inc.
As an Associate AIA and CSI member, Gisselle is passionate about connecting design professionals, advancing industry education, and creating opportunities for emerging professionals to engage with the architecture, engineering, and construction community.
Through her involvement with CSI, she has developed a deeper appreciation for the collaboration, mentorship, and professional development the organization provides. Gisselle is particularly committed to expanding awareness of CSI among students, young professionals, and those beginning their careers in the industry. She believes that strong industry relationships and accessible educational programs are essential to developing future leaders in the built environment.
Gisselle is excited about the opportunity to serve on the CSI Sacramento Board as a First Year Director and to contribute her enthusiasm, creativity, and dedication to the chapter's growth and continued success.
Alexis Deadwiley
Business Development Manager at Sierra Coast Products | Co-Chair at National Women in Roofing Organization (NWIR)
Alexis has been working in the roofing industry since 2004, starting her career in distribution where she gained a comprehensive understanding of all aspects of the business. She later transitioned into commercial contracting, further expanding her expertise. Alexis possesses a diverse set of professional skills, with a particular focus on communication and customer relations. Since 2019, Alexis has been an active member of the National Women in Roofing Organization (NWIR) and currently holds the position of Co-Chair for the Northern California Council. In her leisure time, Alexis enjoys kayaking and roller skating.
