CHAPTER PRESIDENT Christian Flanders CSI, CDT, FMP, IIDA Associate
Territory Manager, Northern California at Inpro Architectural Products
Christian Flanders, CSI, CDT, FMP, IIDA Assoc. has worked in commercial interior design, architecture, and construction in Northern California for over 27 years. Christian began his career in contract office furniture design and sales later joining Wework as their national Building Openings Project Manager.
Post-pandemic he joined PPG Paints as Northern California A&D Specification Manager before taking on his current position of Specification Manager with Inpro.
Christian is a Past President of IFMA Sacramento Valley Chapter who are two-time National Small Chapter of the Year. While with IFMA he achieved his Facilities Management Professional (FMP) designation. A member of CSI for 5 years, he currently serves as President and on the programs committee. Christian achieved his Construction Documents Technician (CDT) in January of 2024.

Nathan Taylor, IIBEC, CSI, CDT, has extensive architectural design and building envelope experience with a skillset focusing on communication (both drawn and written) between the construction and design teams. A master’s degree in architecture and urban planning complements an in-depth understanding of waterproofing and building envelope products.
Skilled in coordination, communications, and team building with a focus on Construction Phase Services, Quality Control, and Forensic Investigation, Nathan enjoys the problem-solving side of architectural projects.
He stays actively creative by drawing and writing novels in his free time.
SECRETARY Joe Rocha, CSI, CDT
Associate at PAE Engineers
Joe is a telecommunications design associate at PAE Consulting Engineers and the incoming CSI Sacramento Chapter Board Secretary. After receiving his Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, he joined the AEC industry in 2021.
During his time in the AEC industry he has worked in multiple markets for MEP/Telecom consulting firms and also worked on the contractor side. In 2017 he was introduced to CSI via earning his CDT credential which he views as a must-have for professionals in the AEC industry.
Located in Roseville, Joe likes to spend time with family, watch sports, and golf in his free time.
TREASURER Alexis Deadwiley

Alexis has been working in the roofing industry since 2004, starting her career in distribution where she gained a comprehensive understanding of all aspects of the business. She later transitioned into commercial contracting, further expanding her expertise. Alexis possesses a diverse set of professional skills, with a particular focus on communication and customer relations. Since 2019, Alexis has been an active member of the National Women in Roofing Organization (NWIR) and currently holds the position of Co-Chair for the Northern California Council. In her leisure time, Alexis enjoys kayaking and roller skating.
DIRECTOR Joel Schlauch, CSI
Project Manager at Comstock Johnson Architects, Inc.
A graduate of the University of Maryland in 1993, Joel Schlauch has been living and working in and around the state of Maryland for more than 25 years. Those years include varied professional engagements for local Architects, an Interior Designer Firm, a Homebuilder, a General Contractor and a photography sales and service studio as well as a self-employed semi-professional Artist and Author. The years in Architecture comprise most of Mr. Schlauch’s professional background while the other professional offshoots serve to inform a wider array of talents under the larger umbrella of the AEC and design community.
In 2018 Mr. Schlauch and his wife moved from Maryland to California to be closer to their son and pursue more lucrative professional opportunities. Mr. Schlauch is recently celebrated his five-year anniversary at Comstock Johnson Architects fulfilling the role of Project Manager.
DIRECTOR Jason Tarman, AIA, NCIDQ

Jason is a licensed Architect with 20 years of experience across a variety of projects in the Workplace, Laboratory, Retail, Hospitality, Multi-Family, and Industrial sectors. Throughout his career, a consistent thread of success has been understanding that people are the ‘what, why, and how’ of all projects – a successful project revolves around the collaboration and teamwork of people.
With roles ranging from Designer to Senior Project Architect Jason understands that ‘how’ something is constructed in the built environment is just as important as the design concept behind it. His experience includes design, drawing documentation, quality assurance review, technical lead, construction administration, and client relations.
In his role as Senior Project Architect at ECS | DTR, Jason participates in projects with roles ranging from preparation of construction drawings and third-party quality control reviewer to driving the creation of technical specifications & project manuals. He also assists with conducting field observations as well as participating in forensic investigations.

Madeleine has over 20 years of experience as a specification writer and currently develops specifications for RMW Architecture +Interiors. She is passionate about advancing the use of transparent, sustainable materials that create buildings with purpose, environmental responsibility, and occupant well-being in mind. Dedicated to making specifications a practical tool that reinforces design intent and promotes sustainability, Madeleine approaches each project with clarity and precision. Her goal is to collaborate with like-minded professionals to advance construction documentation that is effective, forward-thinking, and consistently clear, complete, concise, and correct.
ADVISOR & PAST CHAPTER PRESIDENT Jay Hyde, AIA, CSI, CDT, CCCA, CCS, CID-C
Associate at Mogavero Architects
Jay Hyde is an Associate with Mogavero Architects. He has extensive experience managing and overseeing design projects in education, University housing, multifamily housing, places of worship, recreation, retail, and commercial buildings.
In addition to design, Mr. Hyde has provided his experience in all phases of architectural practice including estimating, constructability analysis, specifications, and construction document support.
My. Hyde currently provides code review and analysis, as well as quality assurance/quality control and plan review for Mogavero Architects. His greatest joy at work is sharing his knowledge and mentoring and empowering others. Outside of the office, Mr. Hyde enjoys gardening, cooking, and US travel.
